Tung Ling Bible School - Established since 1978

Hizkia Refli Ticoalu – Indonesia

som-s-hr-ticoaluIt was in January 2003 that I first received the call to serve the Lord full time. I was 19 years old then. In the same year, by God’s grace, I had an opportunity to join a Korean Mission Ship called M/V HANNAH 2 for the next three years. Through the mission ship’s ministry I had the privilege to minister to many different people overseas. After I stepped down from the ship, I realized that God had given me a specific calling to be a missionary in other countries instead of my own, Indonesia. I began researching and looking around for good Bible seminaries, praying that God would show me one according to His will.

Sheila Tan – Singapore

Sheila Tan Behold, I’m doing a new thing… It springs forth, do you not perceive it?” Isn’t it so true, that God can be doing something right before our very eyes, but we miss it altogether? It took me several weeks into the school term before I realized the truth of this.

I enrolled in Tung Ling for more than a time of equipping, but also a sort of retreat to rediscover communion with the Lord. I yearned to know God, not merely as a source of wisdom and strength for my life and ministry, but as my Lord and Friend. I needed a radical transformation in my inner life. Something had to be done, and taking 3 months’ leave from work to examine and renew my relationship with God was a small price to pay. Read more

Rev. Christopher Thein Htaike – Myanmar

som-s-ct-htaikeMore than five years ago, I was undergoing training in a church. During that time, I saw people who had graduated from Tung Ling Bible School being used mightily by God, and I had a dream and a strong desire to study in TLBC  too. In 2007, God opened the door for me through my bishop, who asked me if I wanted to go to TLBC. I applied then, but I missed two terms in 2008. I prayed, desperately asking God why I had not been able to go to TLBC. God knew my heart’s desire and answered my prayer, and now I finally see this dream being fulfilled. I thank God for answering my prayers and granting my desire to attend TLBC. Read more

God has made everything beautiful in His time. I believe in living life to the fullest and was searching for that something which would complete the meaning. My vicar challenged me to the discipleship course held in church, and that convinced me that completeness and fullness of life can only be found in our Lord.  I am now in TLBC to learn more about our Lord and to draw closer to Him.

First of all, I would like to say “Praise the Lord” and “God is so good all the time”. I believe that God has called me here to experience an encounter with Him. I came to TLBC knowing that my English isn’t good. But I believe God will help me through this and everything else as well because my life in his hands.

I have learnt many things here at TLBC’s SOM. This has been a wonderful
time to walk and fellowship with the Holy Spirit and I’ve enjoyed my time
here very much.

Mary San Min – Myanmar

I came to know the Lord in 1998. In 2002, I received my baptism and from then on, I have served as worship leader as well as youth cell group leader. I give thanks to the Lord because He called me for His ministry and also put in my heart a desire and passion to serve Him full time. I am also thankful for the opportunity He has given me to come to TLBC to grow deeper in spiritual maturity. I hope that after finishing this 3-month SOM course, I will be able to serve God full time.

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21.

On Orientation Day, Dean gave a word on “The Altar”. Right away, I felt a click in my heart. I felt God was asking me to build an altar for Him.

Learning from anointed teachers has brought me back to the basics and a greater revelation of God’s Word. Further, their honest sharing of their journey and experiences with God has been very encouraging and has certainly ministered “LIFE” to my soul.

The presence of God has also been greatly felt, especially during worship sessions. And it has been heartwarming to have met many of God’s people who are so hungry for Him and whom I can call friends.

I’m truly blessed!

Daniel K Hosea – Indonesia

Coming to TLBC was not an easy matter because there were so many obstacles along the way. But if it is God’s will, nothing can stop it. At first I was afraid because I’m one of the youngest persons in TLBC. But I soon realised that my friends here accept me wholeheartedly and respect me, especially my cell group friends (God bless you guys!). I’m learning so many things that have changed my life’s perspective, including how to discipline myself. It has been an extraordinary experience!

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11

I believe that God’s plan for me is perfect and great. To God be the glory!

Mary Ngan – Vietnam

Reverend Mark, the senior pastor from the Church of Singapore, introduced me to TLBC. He knew that I needed to be equipped and trained to serve God more effectively. Although I have been helping my husband to pastor churches in Vietnam, I have personally not undergone formal training.
The first few days in school were difficult as I missed my husband and my son. I was also going through a time of grief as my mother passed away just before I came here. Further, I worried about the work back home.

I give thanks to the Lord for sending me here and also for the love and care which TLBC’s staff has extended to international students like me, which has certainly made me feel at home here.

Christopher Seah – Singapore

My journey to TLBC is by no way an accident. Through my years of Christian life, I have never thought of attending a bible school. As I journeyed in life, my spiritual walk with God reached a level where believing in the word of God became intellectual. Whenever an act of faith demanded, I responded with reservations. I decided to come to TLBC with only one agenda – that God will reformat and reinstall my heart and mind.

Through the many lessons taught, my love for the word of God has since grown deeper with understanding. I’ve now learnt how to feed myself in times of need. Dean shared on Daniel 11:32b – “But the people that now know their God shall do great exploits for Him.” I want to be that!
